Unveiling Death: Eternity in About 24 Minutes
As a rabbi, I try to provide spiritual and emotional comfort to the dying and bereaved. Preparing eulogies is a meaningful aspect of my work; I am telling the story of a life. On Unveiling Death, I talk to fellow clergy, end-of-life professionals, obituary writers, those who’ve had near death experiences, and others. It’s a deep dive into the Great Hereafter, the Final Frontier, the Ultimate Trip. It’s Unveiling Death: Eternity in About 24 Minutes. In this episode I speak with Death Café facilitator, Donna Stein-Harris. Donna spent most of her career in the community safety and health field, including working with the National Safety Council to develop Safe Communities America.
The Death Café concept was first conceived in Europe a couple of decades ago. It was then formally organized in England. Today, Death Café meetings take place in more than 80 countries. According to its website, “At a Death Cafe people…gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.”
